Tudor GMT vs Rolex BLNR

I have been on a list for a BLNR on jubilee for nearly 9 months and have a vacation abroad planned that had me start thinking about whether the Tudor GMT would be a better choice (more low key, etc.). I tried on the Tudor and really liked it. I don't need both GMTs, so would only buy one. Should I hold out for the BLNR knowing I might not be as comfortable traveling with it to some parts of the world, or just buy the Tudor? Is the Tudor truly more low key, or is the pepsi bezel still going to attract a lot of unwanted attention?

I want a watch that I can do anything with, and it seems crazy to feel like I should not wear when traveling abroad when that is the purpose of the watch!

Wait 9 more months for the BLNR if need be.

Get the Tudor if you like it, but know that you will still be yearning for the BLNR after.

Buy a used Tudor and sell it if you ever get the Rolex?

I got the Tudor GMT and uses it for traveling, which I do quite a bit. However, I still want a GMT Master II…

+1. I also agree with the low key aspect when traveling.

Good summary. I liked my Tudor, but I was offered a great trade for a Moonwatch. Took it. I have 3 GMT watches anyway.

I have a Tudor GMT and a GMTc - they are very different watches and wearing experience - both excellent though - I don’t think you would regret having the Tudor while you wait Good luck

Thanks everyone, some good thoughts and ideas. I have to say the Tudor impressed me more than I thought it would.

IMO, if you want the BLNR then the Tudor won’t quell your thirst.
From my experience the Tudor GMT is bulky and top heavy while the BLNR is much sleeker. I would have bigger than average wrists/arms.

The jubilee on the BLNR is something to behold. It is amazing especially in person.

I would say there is room for both in your collection but if you had to choose one, definitely wait for the BLNR on jubilee.

Tudor GMT vs Rolex BLNR

The Tudor GMT is a great watch! I like the look and feel of it. My buddy has it on the NATO which is the way I would recommend it until Tudor updates the bracelet. It is however a thicker watch if that bothers you.

That being said, I think you have your heart set on the BLNR. I would avoid a Segway into another watch if at all possible and get what you really want

I have both. Bought the Tudor March '21 not thinking I'd have a BLNR a year later. I work for an airline, the Tudor gets noticed on the plane. I haven't been to work yet wearing the BLNR so no comparison with that yet.

The Tudor has more heft to it. Never noticed until after I had been wearing the BLNR. At this point the BB GMT will live its life on the winder until I give it to or leave it to my son. I prefer the colors of the BLNR as well as the ceramic bezel with the engraved markers. I've only had the BLNR for a few weeks now so not wanting to wear the BB GMT may change as time goes on but for now the BLNR is my daily wearer.

Also, I prefer the movement of the bezel on the Rolex. It's one click per time zone. -5 clicks to get Eastern Time, 10 clicks to get the same out of the Tudor.

If you want the watch as a tool watch that it was originally, the Tudor is closer to that.
The current BLNR is more jewelry, which is completely cool if that’s what you want. But the Jubilee is blingy and the colors on the bezel are really bright. I like the understated look of the Tudor. It evokes the memory of the 4 and 5 digit Rolex GMTs, which I really dig.

I have both as well as the rolex pepsi. The Tudor does fly under the radar much more than either the batman or pepsi. It also wears slightly bigger and has more heft. Yes, you will really like the Tudor if you buy it. But you will still want the batman. Having said that, there is room for both in a collection as the look and wear different. My advise is to buy the Tudor now while waiting for the batman. But the batman as well when it finally comes and then you may decide whether or not to sell the Tudor. You will love very little money on the Tudor (maybe 10%) so it is a no brainer to me considering you do not know when or if you will ever get that batman.

1. the Tudor likely won't do it for you in the long run, if the Rolex is truly what you're after. Everyone's situation is obviously different, but I'd say there's a small chance you'd forget about the Rolex upon acquiring the Tudor.

2. Though it depends on where you're traveling to, in general, I'd probably not travel with the Rolex GMT for the peace of mind. It's a romantic idea to have your favorite travel watch strapped on while on special trips, but in practice, it'll likely add anxiety and constant monitoring. You'd probably have a better time focusing more on the trip and who you're spending time with instead.

If you like the Tudor buy it while you are waiting. Not a comparison between the two but the Tudor is a solid watch while you wait.

Had many different Rolex’s, the blnr on jubilee is special.

It’ll never scratch the BLNR itch.
However without decent purchase history, you might never get the blnr. I’d consider going grey for the blnr and if you get the call, sell the grey one you bought.

If you don’t want to pay grey price, just get the Tudor for now….but the blnr itch wont go away
