Pre-owned Rolex question

Hi all,

I am about to take the plunge to purchase a 2015 Rolex gmt master 2 LN black pre-owned SS. I can see a very light scratch on the Basel, you can only see in certain angle with the right light and there is what appears to be an over polished area where the Basel meets the crown guard (supposed to be mirror finish but you can see it was brushed a little)

The price point is reasonable compared to a very good example 2011 piece of the same watch.

Would you rather get the 2011 without the scratch or a 2015 one with the scratch of the same price?

I am fairly new to the pre-own scene, thanks in advance for your help.

Kevin

I take it you mean bezel. How much is the scratch worth to you? You have to wear the watch, not the TRF members.

I'd take the 2011 one over the scratched one.

I'd take a new DJ41 any day over either of those pre-owned though.

Why be in a hurry? I would wait for the exact watch that will make you happy, and not compromise.

I agree - there are plenty of these around, take your time and find the right one. If something is niggling at you when buying it won’t stop after you’ve bought it.

I actually like the watch. It's not exactly a steal but for the price £13k from a reputable watch seller with authenticity guarantee etc. It has paper plus box plus service doc from 2019.

Looks like more than one scratch. One is pretty deep. You could have someone replace the bezel.
