Pam 01312

Thinking about getting this but read some bad reviews on the new movement. Is it worth the cost? Is the movement any good? It's either this or an omega moonwatch.

Thanks!

Great watch. I bought my 1312 the first year it came out. No issues and still keeps excellent time!

I guess the bad reviews are around the movement downgrade and closed cashback to hide the more basic movement finishing. I would source a like new second hand model from 2019 or so with the see through case back.

The cost cutting from Panerai seems to be going into overdrive despite ever higher prices :/. Such a shame as I really want to love Panerai!

Had its cousin the PAM1313. Excellent watch, wears very comfortable for its size.

the movement and accuracy maybe below par but a panerai has that distinct look.

It is funny as over the years how much Panerai can enrage some.
The Panerai haters are still mindlessly repeating their misunderstandings of the brand to hear themself on social media. Panerai for some reason lives rent free in their brain for them to trash any time they can but the actual real world performance of the watch is quite impressive.
Disregard and go for it. Nothing else has the design impact of Panerai on the wrist and their movements are rock solid performers. You either get it Panerai or you don’t and that drives some crazy.

My P.9010 movement takes a back seat to no one. It’s power reserve is longer and it’s amplitude is stronger. My Pam 661 has a documented 80+ hour power reserve and holds its regulation/accuracy almost to the very end of that power reserve. That fact alone crushes most all other movements without a dual barrel mainspring and most with.

It’s a outstanding movement and I am a automatic movement super nerd and can/will discuss the technical superlatives of the real world tangible performance to the haters but they won’t put in the effort to know enough about the movement.

This ^^^^
Either buy the brand because you like it or pass.
Really quite simple.
I've very briefly "questioned" some of the same Panerai talk discussed on this forum, but in the end, the brand is super unique and offers a product unlike any other, and frankly, can and should charge whatever people want to pay. My 2 cents...
