Guys.. we all love our divers .. but which in your opinion are the ultimate Top 3 divers for you..you can use any standard by which to judge them.. but which are your top 3 high end ($$$) and top 3 affordable (less than $500) Divers.. give your reasons and pics obviously encouraged...

High end Divers (in no partricular order)

1) i love the ulysse nardin 1846 marine diver.. such style with a power reserve indicator, and a beautiful white porcelein dial.. well made and very elegant and yet retains a great diver style.

2) rolex seadweller.. the ultimate diver in my opinion..

3)UTS munchen 3000m diver.. it aint the best looking watch on the block.. but it is constructed as the ultimate tool watch.. every aspect is overengineered.. for it to attain 3000m water resistance.. adn for about $3000 how many other HAND MADE watches are out there .. limited to 200 pieces.. this will only increase in value

affordable watches, again no particular order..

i) invicta 8926.. for less than $100 this represents a lot of bang for your buck.. excellent value and a good entry level diver.

ii) Seiko SKX779.. no top 3 divers list is complete without a seiko.. probably the best value for money for divers ever created.. i chose this model for its unique looks..

iii) O& W M6 divers.. the rolex sub styling at an affordable price.. superbly constructed with an eta movement and a saphire crystal all at less than $350.. excellent customer service to boot..

That UTS does look immensely strong, but the "mesh" bracelet.....well, not sure how that kind of construction would stand up under a lot of pressure. It is a nice looking bracelet, but somehow I feel it's a bit mismatched for that watch and the job required of it.

JJ.. the mesh bracelet on the UTS is an aftermarket one that the poster fitted himself.. the actial SS bracelet of watch is as hefty and tough as the watch itself!.. the only weakpoint i see is the lack of crown guards.

IWC Deep One (with mechanical depth gauge)

I'd give an honorable mention to the Seiko Monsters as well.

I need a watch to be good for diving like I need running shoes to help me make that 4 minute mile.

I don't dive or run, so if they look good, are comfortable and reliable I am usually happy.

I know I could wear a Casio for some of the above listed, but I prefer not to.

The best dive watch IMHO is this:

Oh, you say it's only rated to 100m. Considering I've only had it down 1m, I'd say it's got a pretty good safety factor there.

Well Mamas if you are talking about divers watches as for wearing
as a divers fashion watch, my favourite has got to be the SD.But if you are
talking about a watch for actual diving.its got to be a watch that gives the
most diving relation information.One of my favourites has got to be the
Citizen Promaster range,my own watch a Aqualand 11 gives a lot more
information than a simple time lapse bezel.Most divers today use a computer
but myself always used both.The GMT is not really regarded as a dive watch
because of the bi-directional bezel and 100m rateing.But have worn one to
38m without any problems.

For me, I think dive and tool watches pretty much form the same category. Apart from my oft-mentioned SD and Seiko 6309, I'd put the Breitling Chrono Avenger M1 on my list, mainly because of the ability to operate the chrono function at any depth. At this point, it's the only quartz watch I'd consider buying.
