When Pm pieces started to be hard to get ?

What year exactly PM Rolex watches became hard to get from AD ? Was it end of 2019 ? or after ? I remember PM Daytona at window AD in summer 2019 and Platona

In and around late 2017, early 2018 here. It sort of coincided with the SS craze, maybe took a half year longer.

This is strange because I remember Day Dates in 2019 available and AD could even make an order

Summer 2020 (June/July) and progressively worsened.

I remember as I picked up my RG DD40 olive in Feb 20’ with only a three month wait at the time.

RG olive DD was in my ADs case in January 2019 the day I picked up a BLNR. So sometime after that.

I remember I was actually offered a discount on a TT Daytona sometime in late 2018, early 2019 NIB from an AD in the Atlanta area. So my guess is 2020.

Yeah saw a rootbeer and smurf in a case July 2020. I think it got hard right around when the toilet paper holding stopped.

You can also look at Chrono24 and see the price charts from summer 2020. Most full PM references took off from there.

Those two caught the hype train last.

PeterPL started this thread back in July 2020 about PM prices increasing. This was a good reference point as well.

I bought a gold subc for 20 off in 2019. The craziness is directly linked to covid.

In the fall of 2019 my AD readily had Day Dates, generally 2-3 at a time in both 36 and 40mm sizes. Also had the occasional 18k Sub as well as 18k Daytonas and DJs on straps with deployant clasps.

Then...NOTHING.

In my part of the world beginning of 2021 I could still order the RG Olive DD.
The YG Green Daytona was not an option.

Few months into 2021 and the DD was also not an option.
