Over-polished Datejust?
Hello! I would like to ask your opinion about the lugs of my watch, if they are over-polished. If the pictures are not clear, I can come back with others. Thanks.

The wear on the lugs looks similar to the wear on the bezel in terms of ageing and overall condition, and it's an older watch, so I'd say it looks acceptable.

Thanks for the answers! I'm not very good at polish, and I said to ask here because you know better!

"Overpolished" can be a matter of opinion and taste. It depends how picky you are. That DJ has been polished quite a bit, but only you can decide if it's too much for your liking.
For comparison, here's one of my (former) DJs that I was confident had never been polished. Quite different than the OP's DJ. The distance of the lug holes from the edge of the lug is always a good indication. |

They are visibly polished, but I wouldn't call them "overpolished". Definitely nothing wrong with its condition given its age!

I don't know what reference or serial the OP watch is, but if this is meant to be a vintage watch, the dial is not original.

not over polished because the age of the watch means it should have been polished at least 3-4 times at service over the years, which looks about what happened. Bezel still is in good shape and lugs aren't rounded off. You can find better condition on these but also much worse

Thank you for your involvement. Let me clarify some aspects. It is a 16013 / year 1986. I am aware that the dial is not original, I am 99% sure that it is a service dial. I say this because it was serviced a month ago at RSC, which makes me believe that if the people at RSC serviced it, it means that it is a service dial. As far as I know, if it wasn't a service dial and it was an aftermarket dial, the RSC wouldn't service it, right?

Not necessarily, but they would force a dial change if it was a fake dial and they would mention it in the paperwork.

I was not specified or mentioned in any way about the dial. If it was fake, I would have changed it because I don't like having a fake dial. From what I have seen on the net, it seems to be a service dial. And besides that, the RSC did not specify anything irregular about dial.
