Thoughts on Santos Skeleton?

was traveling this last week and stopped into a local Cartier boutique. they had the Santos skeleton in steel and it was my first time trying one on. really surprised at how much I liked it — felt pretty novel, sporty, and daily wear-ish for a Cartier (the rest of my Cartier collection is pretty formal).

anyone own one of these or have experience with them who can comment on where they fit in your collection? did it meet expectations? thanks!

I bought mine earlier this February in Madrid, it's a really good daily watch. Plus having bought it in Madrid got a really good GST refund on it. If I remember it right, the SA said it's the highest in all of EU (don't quote me on that). Really versatile with the blue leather strap!

great watch all around, can't go wrong with it :)

thanks for the feedback, and will 100% second Spain being an amazing place to buy a watch. 16% VAT refund + a lot of ADs willing to negotiate on price.

just noticed the new ones when I went and looked at the website after trying the OG steel version on. I'm hoping that I can see one in-person on a business trip in a few weeks to a city with a large Cartier boutique.

afaik, they only negotiate on prices on certain gold models. I think very rarely would ADs negotiate on steel models, might be wrong tho.

I love skeletons and love my santos. That said, I don’t particularly like the Santos skeleton. It just does not have that “wow” factor.

I just got my “complimentary” strap today. I find the Santos skeleton to be really comfortable and easy to wear. Since I don’t wear it daily, I actually like that it’s super easy to set the time without any additional complications. I just wish they had nicer finishings on the internals.
