3646 Radiomir

I have seen this 3646 Radiomir Panerai in the UK Bay.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/17550914003...Bk9SR56t-LGYYQ

Seller claims its a fully genuine watch. Regarding the movement engraving font and the serial number I do have doubts.
Sadly the informations in the net are quite rarely.

I have checked the different modifications styles of the early Cortebert movements, which have also been used in pocket watches.
It seems to be one of the early versions with the rolex engraving above the rubis.

Regarding perezcopes amazing archive, the movement will be a 1940-1944 , but the font of the engraving seems to be more in the early version. The "R" of Rolex looks off to me, but could be a picture quality problem as well. The serial of caseback pops up as a 1940/41 .

Strangely the crown wheel and the transmission wheel next to the crownwheel have been totally scratched -obviously by sandpaper- and didnt show the old partly polished / sun stripe finished finish.

The strapholding bars / fix is looking to me lasered, cause those fine connection is not looking like done in the 40“s.

Would be great to get some comments and I am sure, here are some more guys interested in buying that piece.

Thanks in advance.

French have one even better expression "pas sérieux s'abstenir".

Dear Mark,
yes. The other "no returns" stuff doesnt sounds quite serious for a dealer as well. Nevertheless, those pieces are not often seen in the bay.

Does anyone know this UK dealer?

I am watching this one. I don't know enough to comment anyway, but it's at least an interesting one to see what shakes with.

I sold a Rolex pocket watch with this movement in it to some gentleman out of Italy and suspect this is what happened with it.

Non-original wire lugs, relumed hands plus messed up movement wheels. I doubt any serious collector would be interested in this.

Cheers
Jose
