Blue Bezel !

Nice shots & review JJ. I totally agree with you that the cobalt blue of 16613 models is much appreciated.. But do you think that the black also in the ceramic model looks a little bit pale than in the old models ??

I heard that Rolex engineers cannot produce a ceramic bezel in Red colors for the other models having the PEPSI colors... Can anybody tell that this pale blue & black is due to the ceramic technology used ???

I think that if Rolex cannot control colors in ceramic bezels it's better to go back to the metal bezels.. Which are also very durable, scratch & shock resistant.. I've been using a SS Sub for almost 14 yrs. without any scratch in the bezel ! ... Or may be it's time to Rolex to use other metals as titanium like Hublot does... Do you agree !?

I think the blue dial is only available in all WG so for it to be exclusive from the SS & TT's.

I'm just not a gold kinda guy.

I do think that watch is a stunning work of art, and the colors work great together but... it's just not me.

Blue is my favorite color. But the blue on the WG sub... yeah. Just not me either.

I really don't understand why they won't use THIS darker blue without gold.

Anyone know if there are any plans to make such a watch?

The blue dial is available in the new TT Ceramic Sub as well as the new YG Ceramic Sub (although I believe that the lettering on the WG dial is white, whereas on the TT and all YG Ceramics it is gold).

Some very tempting pics there! Thanks for sharing. IMHO, I always felt the Subdate 'deserves' to be in blusey form. It the most elegant dressy sports watch on the planet. That blue and gold is simply ICONIC Subdate. Cheers,

Hi peeps,

I am torn between the old blue and the new ceramic blue.

There are 2 BNIB available to me....how should I decide which is best...??

Would appreciate all your advice, please. Thanks :)

Pics taken with my iPhone 4 while on way to have the watch resized this morning.

Have to admit it is a VERY well kept watch else I would have gone for the ceramic model instead. This blue is indeed of a nicer hue than the new blue.

The only 2 things I dont like are, one it isnt hefty enough and two, the gold centre links stop short at the clasp but I guess that distinguishes itself as the older generation.

Usually am quite skeptical with buying old watches but I guess previous owner was just as meticulous. Its a rare find for its excellent condition, "SWISS" only dial and un-named ownership, where to find?

So...Just DO IT.

1st time I've seen the 'SWISS' only dial, always 'SWISS MADE'.
I purchased a 16613 and a 116613 in HK new from an AD and both cards were un-named, but that doesn't make the watch more or less, imo. Enjoy your new time piece

After wearing a stainless GMT for the past 20 years, I just picked up this 16613 Z from AlexCollector here in SF Bay Area. I have a feeling that my GMT is gonna be sitting in the drawer for awhile

great review , and as ever stunning pics ,,, i have the same version of the watch ,,, except ,,, i have yaucht master hands fitted ... not quite the maxi dial , but the best compramise , more moddern looking face and no clutter , most people wouldnt notice , its subtle. but i like it.

Beautiful watch but I am confused.

I just purchased the TT Blue Submariner and it is a new model. What is the difference? I know it doesn't have lugholes but although I see the comparison between maxi dials, I don't see a difference. Is the blue different than mine? I haven't received in hand as the caseback is being monogrammed. Obviously I am new and although I have purchased 3 this year (OMG), I am still learning. FYI- all from AD.

To me, the TT Bluesy Sub is the most beautiful TT watch made by Rolex.

I took my watch with a black dial into RSC BH and they recommended that I replace the dial. They did and it came back with "Swiss", which surprised me. I figure it is a genuine Rolex Dial.

Nice photos! Not a single scratch on the PCLs! The bluesy is underrated, esp the no holes cases. Stunning in person, get lost in the blue dial like you’re swimming in the ocean. Feels like double the weight of a 14060 with the gold and date added on. Seeing fewer of the no holes cases around on chrono and eBay. Seeing absolutely no Y-serials. The flat 4 Y-serial bluesy should really start to take off like the flat 4 Y-serial kermits. Even seeing 116613s come down to $15k, right where some 16613s are sitting. Vintage is making a comeback…again.
