No Swiss Marking on Dial

Hi All,
I just purchased a vintage ( 1946 or 1959) 6605 Datejust stainless steal/Machine turned pie pan bezel/roulette date /jubilee band . It has a Beautiful well patinated dial that has an eggshell white color which I love, but has no Swiss marking at the 6 o'clock position . My question is , did Rolex ever make dials with no markings ?

Thanks!

No, they didn't.

Anybody can post an image if it meets the size requirements for an attachment.

Many vintage models don't. Mine doesn't.

Sometimes the marking can be hidden under an incorrect crystal retaining ring. However, repainted dials often don't say Swiss. If the dial has been repainted, we will probably be able to tell from a good photo without relying only at that one word.

I usually use the Go Advanced button and then the Manage Attachments button. The I choose file and click on the Upload button. When you do the upload, double check that you didn't get an error message. The size limit depends on the file type IIRC.

One cheat that might work is to place on a desktop computer and do a capture using the clipping tool on a PC. Can’t remember the analogue on a MAC but it too has one. Then it will already be at screen resolution (72) dpi. You can do a screen capture on your phone too but image will be small. With the PC or Mac clippping tool you draw a rectangular marque around the image. Otherwise Photoshop talkatap ot one of the image utilities on your system. That’s all I’ve got for you. Good luck!
