Man, for a minute there I thought you might have an ultra-rare "Squishy Fifty" Sub.
Oh well, the hunt continues.

As promised, some side by side photos of the wonderful 14060 and its fantastic predecessor, the 5512.
Cheers,
GW

Beautiful examples! Is that 5512 equipped with service dial/hands/insert? I've never seen glow like that on a 5512. Nice!

Hey Swish,

Yes, dial and hands are Luminova service replacements.
What I miss in patina, I gain in vivid green night-time glow.

Cheers,
GW

That's a nice 14060. The 14060 was my first Rolex and I still have it.

Ah the first...
Yup She was my first! And look at me know.
I bought her from an AD from the used department
sort of, They made a big mistake on A Datejust I bought thinking that it was going to be my first So I studied the Two-tone Datejust numbers and gold content (work at assay lab) And low and behold things were not right, numbers did not match up on clasp and end links.
Went back to AD and they came out with my avatar ND Sub What a beauty.
Then I opened it and seen the movement, and I was all in now. loved the Rolex
Bought for $2500 sold for $4000 and low and behold a new addiction was born.
Flip-fo-mor-a-ples. terminal I am afraid and very contagious and a lot of fun.
Sold two and miss them both.always looking for there sisters

I love the 14060. I feel it shares more with the 16600 than the 16610. Very cool look.

A somewhat timeless thread on an excellent Submariner, now discontinued.
For those wishing more insight into the 14060/14060M; read Paul Altieri's "Last of the Best"-found under Bob's Watches. P/A. is the CEO. His comments about the 14060M
as to full balance bridge and Breguet overcoil 3100 caliber are timeless.
Fits in nicely with my 1960 5512 PCG gilt dialed gem, made when Hans Wilsdorf was still at the helm of Rolex.

Funny to see how our views on flipping have changed, although I do get that Russ has a passion for the watches.

Am I
Love Subs. I own a 14060M, 124060, and a meters first 5513 with nice patina. I was on the ropes as you were until I sold the 114060 for the 124060. Got the bug for the 5 digit and the 14060M was next and has become my daily. Currently restoring my 5513.

I agree, the 14060 is my favorite modern Rolex. I keep it for rainy day wear.
