There are so many out there, you’d need to be more specific which models you are talking about but if you are concerned with value, all of the sport pieces from that era are valuable and collectible.
The DateJusts and DayDates not so much unless you’re talking about Stella dials or an all-gold datejust. I think the reason is because they produced so many of these that supply/demand isn’t like the sport watches. |

Rolex watches are the most collected luxury watch on the planet, including vintage.
Internet collecting, which is only a part of the picture, tends to be overwhelmed with recent models

personal opinion is vintage Rolex is too expensive. For what feels like just a bit more I can get a brand new one. But that's just me.

Sorry, this is inaccurate. Vintage Rolexes, from the humble DJ to the crazy expensive PN Daytona, are considered very collectable and sought after, in most of the world anyway .... U.S., Europe, Japan, etc .... Not sure about Vietnam, though.

Rolex from that era can fetch big bucks and don’t become available as often as more recent examples. Don’t mistake that for not being collectible.

There are some 50s and 60s models that don't get much interest at all. I think that's what OP is talking about. Think non-oyster case watches and dress watches. Those watches from the 50s and 60s don't have much value to them. Bubble backs too.

I think the 34mm vintage rolex aren’t as collectible. The others are fine like datejusts, submariners, GMTs and Daytonas. Vintage is never going to be produced again. The vintage rolex market is as stable as ever.

Well, (my view) the market says otherwise and you’re not offering any specific examples to the contrary so this thread seems to be a non-starter.

I don't know what you have been reading or who you have been speaking to, but many older Rolex models are collectable besides Submariners. Cheers and good luck with the vintage Tolex collectables.

What makes you think they're not collectible? Many 1950s and 1960s rolex models are in the mid 5's into the 6 figures, multiples of their original cost.

Trolling the vintage section… Sensationalist and sure to cause a stir. Mission accomplished, time to move on to another ridiculous topic. Is there a slow clap emoji?

I believe OP is confusing earlier non-oyster models, basic square, rectangular models that aren’t fashionable currently and therefore aren’t seen as much or command big bucks.

Vintage Speedkings also, when 32mm watches come back into style.

And let's not forget the "big frying pan". Last time I looked they still seemed to be collectible.
For example: https://www.chrono24.com/rolex/8171-...id25582118.htm |
