Nope, nobody said the dial is refinished. Maybe re-lumed ... maybe. On the other hand, every other visible part looks sketchy. You are apparently reading the feedback through a distorted filter.

I misspoke and didn't mean refinished. I believe it has been relumed, and based primarily on info received outside of the forum. I garnered several opinions from different sources in a best attempt to generate a consensus.

Maybe the biggest takeaway for me from this whole process is the surprising difficulty in getting anyone that the local watch community would deem an expert to state any opinion definitively. For one of the most common watches in the collector world, I certainly thought I'd have an easier time getting a definitive and trustworthy assessment.

Had this watch had a more appealing vintage patina to me and been a relume, I would've probably rolled with it. Or if someone was able to confirm the dial was original, I would've corrected a couple other things and kept it.

The local dealers and "experts" are likely very close-knit.

Dial is an absolute disaster. Almost all letters are very off. The E‘s are the worst. And don’t get me started on that absurd bezel. Say hello from the 1971 non-serif on my wrist and hit the dealer with a magnifying glass.
