Correct insert for 1969 Red Sub 1680 Mark1 ¿?

Hello everyone,

According to watchprosite.com the correct insert for a MF Mark1 1680 is a Mark2 "Long 5". However you rarely see it with dealers and on the internet.

Is this correct?

You may not see it as much as other inserts for Subs but not rarely.

You rarely see them because:

1. They have gotten replaced over the last 50 years.
2. Shrewd sellers pull them and sell them for 3-4000 alone.

As noted they got replaced over time.
In that era they’d be a long 5 or a standard mk2. In about 69/70 you start seeing the long 5 disappear.

I've always considered the Long 5 correct for the Mark I meters first dials. Contrary to what some others have written or postulated the last few years, the long 5 was always considered the correct insert for these dials - at least based on my past couple decades of collecting.
