Correct insert for 1969 Red Sub 1680 Mark1 ¿?
Hello everyone,
According to watchprosite.com the correct insert for a MF Mark1 1680 is a Mark2 "Long 5". However you rarely see it with dealers and on the internet. Is this correct? Below the original excerpt |

You may not see it as much as other inserts for Subs but not rarely.

You rarely see them because:
1. They have gotten replaced over the last 50 years. 2. Shrewd sellers pull them and sell them for 3-4000 alone. |

As noted they got replaced over time.
In that era they’d be a long 5 or a standard mk2. In about 69/70 you start seeing the long 5 disappear. |

I've always considered the Long 5 correct for the Mark I meters first dials. Contrary to what some others have written or postulated the last few years, the long 5 was always considered the correct insert for these dials - at least based on my past couple decades of collecting.
