Authentication help for vintage/1984 Datejust

Hi there!

Looking to buy my first Rolex, a birth year Datejust (16030). The seller has shared the photos here. Any call outs?

Looks nice from what I can see. Check that the serial numbers match.

When you say serial numbers matching, are you referring to the serial on the watch vs the papers?

Yes, that's what I meant. You'd be surprised how often people people are disappointed when they find out the papers are for a different watch. Sometimes even the owner doesn't realize.

Nice engine turned bezel in decent condition. If hang tag, papers and serial on watch match it's one of the nicer vintage datejusts you can buy :)

Probably, I'd be getting the engraving removed.

Personally, I'd get the case back replaced, rather than try to buff it out.

Of course, now trying to figure out what that number could possibly mean... though I suppose you could always ask...

Lazer removal with SHWR would cost £50 and retain the one direction nap/brush, and keep the 16030 punch inside caseback .
The 30 jewels (30J put on many 1570/5 pieces) raised crown is correct and print is pukka too.
Nice watch and set
