Another authentication request for vintage/1984 Datejust

Hi gang!

I appreciated everyone's help a couple days ago on your thoughts of the 1984 DJ I posted, but turns out the seller was a bit sus and ghosted me when I asked for a photo of the watch serial and warranty paper together. Thankfully I found 2 more today. What are your thoughts on this one? They already sent me photos of the matching watch serial and the warranty paper serial, and are making a video for me tonight.

Is the seller Dickson Tai from DTWatches?? Those look like his pics. If its someone else, be cautious, they may be stolen pictures.

No it's not Dickson Tai. The seller is providing a video tonight and I have the option to have a Zoom call as well to verify.

The second hand looks like it’s in bad shape no? I’m zooming in on my phone now and there’s a fair bit of scratches too, which is normal for something almost 40 years old?

Here's another one I am considering folks. I do prefer the WG bezel...

Broad as it's long tbh - first is t swiss t, papers and box, low stretch and engine turned bezel but dial wear and expected oxidation on all original hands. Second is the defacto classic fluted bezel (some say more dressy!?), fresher (perhaps) t swiss made t dial - haven't looked hard if legit as on tiny phone screen, it has a bit more stretch, no box and papers (which add only about 15-20% on a batton datejust btw). There are thousands of DJ for sale from £3400 on a 6251h/62510h so look what you like on a C24 search - silver is most common iteration, but there is something about that I like and I nearly always strap on a silver one over some other colour .

These both look fine. Just different bezels, minor differences in condition, lume has aged to different colors, one has box and papers, presumably different prices. Your choice.

As Paul noted, you can find dozens of these 5-digit silver-dial DJs at any time, they are extremely common. So you will just have to find one you like at the right price, and pull the trigger. For me, the bezel is the biggest different on those two, I find the engine-turned and fluted bezels to give the watch very distinct looks. My favorite combination is probably engine-turned on an oyster bracelet TBH. I also like the 4-digit dials best, but the non-quickset date isn't for everyone.

Thanks all again. In terms of pricing of pricing the first one with box/papers is asking 4600 and second one 4150. Both USD shipped.

I have been seeing these sell in the high $3k range for a simple silver dial, so $4150 isn't crazy, but not a bargain either.
