First Omega in Space...

I have been thinking about purchasing a FOIS...I would love to hear from owners and former owners with your impressions of the watch...

I had a new Speedy Pro which I liked, but ended up selling it as I thought it just a bit to big...

I would love an Ed White but alas the chances of that are slim to none...

The FOIS is just 1 MM shorter than the regular Speedy so if felt the regular was big May or May not fit you well. The lugs are pretty long (at least visually vs regular Speedy) and made me sell it rather quickly. I actually owned it twice, the second time bought it with some mods as shown below, which the previous owner call an Ed White looking version (different dial and hands, brushed top lugs):

I own a FOIS. I never really wore it much because I thought the proportions were off. It was too thick compared to the smaller diameter. I bought the Spiralwinder aftermarket see-through caseback which shaved around 1mm off the thickness and now wear it more often.

Former owner, only sold it as a friend wanted one for a wedding anniversary present and they were discontinued by then. It went to a good home for a good reason. I really enjoyed the watch, from the dimensions, to how legible it was, to the smaller wear from my Hesalite speedy (it's noticeably smaller). It's also a strap monster. I will agree with the comment on it being chunky, but it's not too bad, just something to be aware of. I'd do you homework on its dimensions to be sure it's for you.

I had one and I really liked it. I loved the smaller case size, and the fact that it was a manual wind. I ended up trading it as a part of a package deal for a 16710. But if I get the Speedy itch, I would choose the FOIS over other models.
Here is it on the Forstner president, which I think is the best and most comfortable bracelet, not just for the FOIS, but of any watch.

I have a FOIS and a 3861 sapphire and like them both in their own ways.

The FOIS provides a more "vintage" vibe to me, wears smaller, no crown guards, smaller pushers, etc. It does look great on straps (19mm), but I'm a bracelet guy so wear mine on a Forstner too.
