Opinions on the submariner for sale?

They have some stock photos with the white background. But the photos without the white background are the actual watch for sale. I do believe the dealer to be reputable and legitimate. But if anybody thinks otherwise, I would love to hear. Also, they say, never been polished, I don’t know how they know that, But it is fairly scratched up, especially on the bracelet, what does everybody think? Too
scratch it up? Any other opinions about anything?

I could be wrong but in the slight left facing pic showing the crown guards, they appear to be a little thin. It could be acceptable for this model but I’m sure someone else will chime in.

Sorry, I am not familiar with the seller. Have you compared to other Sub Dates of similar age and condition?

Yeah, I’m not 100% sure, but I believe the photos with the white background are just representative. That is probably a shady sign I guess.

I'd pass. Are you dead set on unpolished? Full set?

Not dead set on it. I just thought the unpolished would be kind of cool. And the full set would be nice from a dealer I’m not too familiar with. I wouldn’t mind naked from crown and caliber or bobs

It might be photos taken in a light box which is common with dealers.

Buy the seller of course.

I wonder how they can guarantee unpolished?? Just because it has wear and scratches doesn’t mean it was not polished at some point. Agree that the crown guards look like they have been polished at some point. But not positive.

I buy quite a few watches from Eddie at the Massapequa store. Every watch I've picked up has been authentic and they have great service. I've been very happy with them and have picked up watches from 3 of their other locations as well.

I’m not an expert by any means but I have a year 2000 16610 with lug holes that is in far better condition. Those scratches above the crown on the clasp looks like someone tried to remove some scratches and made it worse. It’s not uncommon to get scratches down there particularly on SS because that’s where your wrist naturally touches the table, desk etc…. When the seller uses the phrase “never been polished” to me he’s trying to tell the buyer that these scratches will all come out with a simple polish. Most will if done properly but for that price you could do better.

Pictures are of 2 different watches, one with lug holes and one without. I assume they are selling the newer watch.
