Chat with AD
I’ve visited a boutique a few times. I don’t live in said state, but travel frequently. Spent about 30 minutes with my “new” SA today about my interests as apparently my old one, who never communicated with me, is gone. Thought we had a decent convo.
Is this as pointless as walking into a random rolex AD asking for a Daytona or sub? Or is there a 5% chance I actually do good here. |

What watch are you after?
Code would be like getting a datejust. Offshore would be like getting a sub. Royal oak would be like a Pepsi. Extra thin, etc like Daytona You can get them, hope those terms help you gauge the difficulty. Really depends what your expectations are. Are you willing to buy something they offer you that isn’t exactly what you want to establish a ‘relationship?’ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I thought my efforts talking to a SA at an AP boutique weren't going to get me anywhere, but I always enjoyed the visits. But after a few years I've been offered and bought two watches in a two month span so you just never know.

Are your two watches both the exact ones on your wishlist? Did this happen very recently?

In my experience it's been much more fruitless to visit Rolex ADs as a genuinely interested customer.

IMO, much higher chance than at Rolex, but highly dependent on what exactly you ask for. So, what is it?
