Not my first but can totally relate. I believe the 16600 is my favorite Rolex ever, yet I got rid of it when I got both a Milgauss and GS at roughly the same time, so I felt I just needed to clear something out and make room. Financially a lot oncomings at the time.

Regretted it ever since. I’ve since backfilled with the Sub LV, but always have the thought and temptation on moving out to get the 16600 back. It’s a constant. :/

God what I would do for that watch again. Can anyone relate?
Not really. I never sell or trade anything. Do you still consider the Deep Sea an “upgrade”?

Good call.

Nope, I'll never sell my first Rolex, it was a gift from my GF.
When I die it'll go to her kid as specified in my will.

I think most owners have experienced this at least once in their watch journey. My biggest regret was trading in a SD4K, lesson learned.

That is why my new goal is to add smartly, but never subtract

I’ve never had any regrets. When market value of 16570 doubled I sold it, bought 2 other watches and had spare money to spend. Then I sold other watches and bought another 16570. Life’s too short.
