Stolen TT GMT Master II
Hey everyone,
Unfortunately, just experienced a loss as my stolen on Jan 8th, 2024. I was attending a corporate event at the Starling Hotel in Atlanta this week and we all arrived prior to check-in. The hotel had a "secure" area for us to store our bags. We noticed an individual not with our group lurking Nad informed security. They saw him but did norhing. He later gained access to the secure area and rifled through a bunch of bags. Ended up stealing a laptop, a phone, some other random things and, unluckily for me, he found my watch in my bag (was wearing my smart watch at the time). The model number of the watch is 116713. The serial number is Z818045. The bracelet number is 78203. Putting this out there in hopes he tries to sell it and someone sees this. |

Sorry to hear. I always think it is best to travel with just one watch which never leaves your wrist.

Im sorry to hear OP but that area should never be listed as secure if anyone can just hang around in it. I would put this one on the hotel for their false sense of security.

If you haven't done so, file a police report with the Atlanta PD and include the model and serial numbers of your GMT II. Check with the hotel security to see if there are surveillance cameras that may have captured the thief. Finally, call Rolex Watch USA Inc in New York City at 212-758-7700 and ask to be transferred to the Lost and Stolen Watch Department and let them know; they'll ask for a copy of the police report and if your watch is ever taken to a service center for maintenance or repair after that, there is a chance that you can get your watch back.

Thank you all for the replies and we'll wishes! I filed a police report that night with all of the identifying info. I also emailed the info to the Georgia Pawn Brokers Assoc and the National Pawn Brokers Assoc. I am hoping that it is able to be recovered.
In addition, my company has been in contact with the hotel to assess liability and our company attorneys are also working to assign liability to the hotel. I think our case is good, because of the multiple items stolen and the fact that the hotel did confirm that they had video of the suspect. One silver lining to the story is that I randomly looked up the AD I bought the watch from 15 years ago and the SA who sold me the watch still worked there (moved up from 1st year SA to VP now). He remembered me, was so nice and gracious, and offered to help me get a replacement when I am ready. Im not a watch collector really and he is in a diff state from me, so it was nice to reconnect with him a bit after all this time. |
