Recent acquisition

I have been a Panerai collector for many years and have been an active participant at the Panerai boutique in Beverly Hills. While my Panerai collection has dwindled some over the years to mostly old school classics, 372, 233, 390 I still am enthusiastic about the brand. I just had a chance to pickup a LNIB 416 Beverly Hills edition that I had always liked. Took it to the BH boutique for a new black calf strap. Super pleased.

Thx for the nice comments. I like the value and access we are seeing in Panerai these days. I haven’t concerned myself with others perceptions of the brand.

Congrats. You need a proper custom strap. You’ll love your PAMs even more with a great strap(s).

Very interesting you said you like the value of modern Panerai. I think the value has materially diminished over the years. In any event, glad to hear you still like the brand. Too many people leaving Panerai recently.

By value I mean the ability to obtain the watch, design, quality of the watch and how it looks/feels on my wrist. I DON’T mean the perceived commodity value we see with Rolex including inflated prices and inability to walk into a AD and make a purchase of virtually every model. I don’t care about others leaving the brand for various reasons. In fact, I like that because it keeps purchase cost in the preowned market, reasonable and low. I’m not buying a pan as a commodity. I’m buying it to put it on my wrist. Very simple concept.

They are nice, but I have a thing for the 1950 case....seems like there is more Panerai DNA in 1950.
