Unpolished 16710?
The lugs look pretty good, if slightly polished. The clasp seems to indicate a decent bit of polishing.
Thoughts? I'm new to spotting how much, and how well, a watch has been polished. All thoughts appreciated! |

The V brushing on lugs, chamfers, crownguards, are all very sharp. It’s either unpolished or have been repolished but done by an excellent polisher. Amazing condition!

Good looking watch. Agree, clasp pics show bracelet was polished but doesn’t look like a deal breaker to me. Lugs look exceptional. If it’s priced right, I’d buy it now.

That’s a near perfect 16710. Polished? Who cares? I think you will have a difficult time finding a better one.

Looks amazing. What matters is the condition, if it’s been polished it’s been done very well so I don’t have any issues with that! I would buy it.

I wouldn't spend too much time overthinking this.
This is a very clean watch. In my opinion it has been polished but whoever has done it has respected the rolex finishing and knows what they are doing. I have a 16710 but its in the safe and I rarely wear it so I cant get it for reference easily, but its unpolished and I just know the lugs and crown guards are big give aways to its condition. The clasp can be easily replaced relatively inexpensively even though the embossed crown can indicate how much polishing. The lugs in this picture are slightly rounded at the foot so thats why I think it has been refinished. But it's a 20+ year old watch. It's probably been done once or twice, it's in very good condition. The lugs also tend to tapper slightly inwards when viewed square on, if they are flat, this is a typical refinish whereas the rolex way is a slightly slanted taper, longer at the bracelet side for this ref. Nice piece. |

Looks unpolished and nice. The question is whether the was was a safe queen or worn regularly. That will help you deduce whether it may have been refinished, recut, etc. by an expert.
