Where’s the proof that those two examples are from the same year?

Well even Rolex dont make the watch hands a firm called Aiguilles makes all the watch hands for all models. So batch to batch much like the dials, dial fonts, bezels, etc there could and always will be slight differences.

Also curious about this and wonder if any one can cast light on this. There are even videos telling people how to authenticate a Rolex based on the shape of the pivot. Personally I've seen both shapes from pictures of watches for sale.

As long as you know your watch is authentic, why concern yourself with such minutiae?

Difference in Genuine Rolex hands
The minute hand is shorter on one also.
Unless that's just an angle difference on the picture. But the angles are similar. OCWatchGuy right now has two BLNR watches in stock and both types of pivot are represented there.

One of those has a different crystal too (the watch below has a blue tint AR coating on the cyclops, the watch above does not).

Looks like there is just a different crimp on the hollow rivet. This rivet is hollow to fit onto the post of the movement so the "tell" with non-authentic seconds hands can be a solid top and not a crimped top, which both of these have.
