Reporting a Missing/Stolen Watch to Rolex
There were a couple of threads about reporting a stolen watch to Rolex so I decided to contact the RSC's myself to determine the exact process. This is for the U.S. only.
I initially called the Beverly Hills RSC (310-271-6200) but my call went to voice mail and I was asked to leave a message and a representative would call me back shortly. I didn't leave a message nor did I call back. I then called the Dallas RSC (214-871-0500) and spoke to Vivian - one of the CSR's and she explained the process as best she knew. Then eventually she directed me to call the NYC RSC asking for Lea DiLuca. My next call was to Lea at the NYC RSC - 214-758-7700. She handles all these issues for Rolex U.S.. Here is the process in case your watch is ever stolen: A police report should be completed with copies made for your records and the case number documented. Complete the Missing Watch Report - see the below screen print as well as the attached file. Yon can also call the RSC for a copy. Fax this to the NYC RSC attention to "Lea DiLuca." The fax number is 212-980-2166. Any insurance information should also be included. This information now goes into a national database for watches reported stolen in the U.S. only. Any time a Rolex is serviced by any of the four U.S. service centers - Beverly Hills, Dallas, NYC or Lititz - this information is then checked against the NYC database. RSC NY will only check against the national database. If the watch has been reported stolen, Rolex will contact you. There is a separate international database in Geneva. This same missing watch information should be sent via fax to 41-22-300-2255. RSC NY said if your watch is discovered in another country as reported by an RSC you would have to deal with the local laws of that country. I'm not clear on this process. I may contact Rolex in Geneva and will report back if I have any information about stolen watches crossing the border and how their service centers address this. |

Reporting a Missing/Stolen Watch to Rolex
Here is some additional information. The number for the RSC NY is actually 212-758-7700. I listed the incorrect area code in the OP.
In the U.S. only the national database is checked. There is no lookup in a database maintained by Rolex Geneva. In the U.S. Rolex RSC will retain a watch if it is determined to be stolen based on the information provided to them from an individual that completed the missing watch report. The law office representing Rolex U.S. will contact both the individual that filed the claim and the individual that brought the watch into an RSC. Rolex U.S. recovers several watches a month. I did not contact Rolex Geneva since Rolex U.S. doesn't check their database. |

Thank you very much! I hope to NEVER need to do this.
I do find it interesting that they maintain two separate databases and they don't necessarily check both. I would think it would be better to maintain one or at least check both whenever any watch is serviced at any RSC around the world? |

These watches are used like currency. I am sure that my Rolex stolen in Medellin Colombia was shipped somewhere else to be sold as "used" and bought by someone for a fraction of the price so they can have a Rolex.
You think that people like those would ever possibly actually take a watch to a genuine Rolex authorized repair center? No way in HELL. I would rather play the lottery and think I will win than expect to get my watch back.

Curious as to why there isn't an international database
So any Rolex Service Center can't Check

It may go back to the whole way Rolex USA is set up as independent from Geneva, thus allowing them favorable copyright protection at the border.

I suspect it has something to do with the fact that they are two companies, and this distinction is very important if they wish to continue to have customs seize imported watches. The more they make themselves look like one company, the harder it is for them to argue, substantively, that Rolex US is a completely independent company.

It’s a shame that Rolex does not share the stolen database with the public.

First off, props to Lea!
She - Along with many RSC people in England - were helpful when my stolen Platona was recovered at Kings Hill in England. One change since this 10 year old thread started - the Rolex theft databases were merged and now it is Global. Had that not been done a little bit before my Platona was presented to KH RSC, then it wouldn’t have been flagged as stolen. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
