Rolex gold watches going up in price ??
I've heard from multiple sources that Omega , for whatever reason is raising the price on their gold watches by approximately 5% on March 1st
With the prices in the secondary market of gold watches soft ( also Rolex gold watches) , I do not understand . Could someone please enlighten me? |

Are you asking about Rolex or Omega and are you looking to buy? All I know is the price of new watches will only increase.

The prices on the secondary market for gold watches went up 60% duriing Covid.
Now the prices are starting to fall along with other watches. Meanwhile the price of gold has gone from $1'200 to $2'000 an ounce during the same time period. |

Price of gold has risen significantly in the past 2-3 years.
Whereas platinum and palladium is fairly flat or at least a more modest climb of 5y. Certainly a factor in pricing. Regarding Omega, they were already above average on their gold retail pricing compared to competitors. Going to be hard to shift these. |

Rolex gold watches where the most time available at the AD for a big discount. 10%, 20% and more. This changed for a brief time in the last few years. Now it is getting back where it used to be. Except a few models you get the Gold watches again below MSRP

The watch companies raise their prices at whim because they can. The cost increases of new Rolex far outpace the rates of inflation over the last 50 years. Rolex is transitioning upscale and higher retail prices are needed to keep that move going.

My 2 cents is that Omega knows something we don't . That may be that gold prices may rise this year.
Gold bugs are saying $3000 an ounce by the end of 2024 Maybe Rolex knows as well |
