Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time in the wild, WOW!!!
A couple of weeks ago I'm sitting in the Charlotte, NC airport terminal, packed to the gills, and out of the corner of my eye something caught my attention. I look up and ten meters away a man is approaching to sit across from me in the last seat available. I was immediately drawn to his wrist but couldn't make out what is was yet. As he sat down I recognized the maltese bezel but had to google which model as VC was never really on my radar. The Overseas Dual Time, 7900/7920.
Wow, I couldn't take my eyes off it. This is one of those where pictures don't do justice. Now after looking at many of them on websites, I can't even remember what color it was he was wearing but I want to say the blue. Registered my interest and had a very nice chat with Danielle, the corporate concierge. Great chat with her although I'm sure I'm in for a "years to never" wait unless my wife suddenly wants a precious metal his/hers to go along with it. No point to this story really other than to share how awestruck I was and that if you ever have an opportunity to drop by a VC boutique, do yourself a favor and hope there is one on display somewhere or being worn by an employee. |

I visited a VC boutique a couple of months back here in Seoul.
They told be it would be 1-2 yrs for the blue dial, 1-2 mos for the white, and pretty much right away for the black. When I visited, they had a black dial that was spoken for...but the SA told me they don't have a waitlist for the black and I would get the next one that came in (which would have been a week or so). |
