Scratch Magnet pam915
I bought a Pam915 as my first Panerai, also my first polished-case watch.
I noticed it gets scratches like no other watches omg. Didn't know a polished steel watch gets swirls and scratch from cloth and daily wear like this. I even thought for a sec this could be a fake watch if the steel quality is like this haha.. my other watches just look fine on the polished surfaces (bb36, smiths Everests, bb58, speedmaster professional) Is this normal to get wear like this? I worn like 4 times |

Not normal IMHO. I have original owner PAMs dating back as far as nearly 19 years. None look like that except one that I intentionally wore in hostile environments/activities. All others could be mistaken as nearly new and they’re all worn regularly.

Have you checked the watch under not bright room with just flash light to the watch? the polished area hides scratch in bright condition and but when taken with flash light these becomes more vivid |

The polished surfaces will scratch and show swirls fairly easily. Even just from wiping it with your shirt. It also depends on how careful you are when wearing it.

Hi, new to this forum. I own a couple Panerai watches. I a black one and Blue one. My black one gets the most wear and very similar to the one you just posted except mine has military time. However I do have some scratches in the same area as your and just noticed one on the metal clasp on the leather band. I reached out to my local Panerai dealer and they mentioned using Cape Cod past or cloth polish. Anyone every try this to remove scratches? Any other suggestions?

To me, the watch in the photos looks much better as a Panerai as opposed to a pristine fully polished like-new Panerai.
That being said, that looks like heavier wear than 4 times. |

4 times?! Where the heck do you work? In a mine shaft. That’s a lot of swirls

Cape Cod Polish
Has anyone tried Cape Cod past or cloths to try and get the scratches out?

I'm yet to see anyone use one of those and achieve a finish anywhere near factory. Probably best in most cases to leave the watch as is until it goes in for a service as the scratches add character. To each their own though. |
