5512 and 5513
Just wanted to share some interesting watches i came across during my previous few days while looking around.
The store owner was nice enough to let me look at this piece up close. A really nice 5512. He mentioned something about the 6 marker touching the SCOC. I got no idea is this a unique thing? Haven’t seen any 5512 like that though. This 5513 has a really nice faded bezel. Looks amazing in person. I think he mentioned it’s a Bart Simpson coronet. Both had really nice UV Lume reaction. Too bad I didn’t take pictures of it. Hope to own 1 next time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Focus on the inserts. Look at the 5513 (second photo); this is an orig long 5 insert. The first one is much more recent and the insert is poor for a 5512. The first photo of the 5512, appears that it may be relumed. Let’s see what others say

Regarding the insert on the 5512. Why are the numerals riding so high, being cut off by the outer edge? Very noticeable on the '50' and the '10'. The triangle also lacks it's apex below the pip. Normal?

As Henry mentioned is not the correct insert, probably was filed down to make it fit

it's trying to look like a Skinny 4 insert from the early 60's... which do have some digits reach the edge. Also, the triangle not reaching the edge..

didn't noticed the bezel of the 5512. it does looks off.
I will be guessing the dial is relumed as well? The 6 marker looks especially close to the SCOC. |

guys
the 5512 insert is fine. Its a MK3 - Skinny 4 which is known to have the digits partly covered the bezel and the triangle not making it all the way to the edge. Have a read.. https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/vint...r-t266367.html |
