Trade DJ41 champagne for blue dial - should I go for it

I have classic DJ41 two tone jubilee, fluted bazel, champagne dial. Love this watch, but thinking about switching for blue dial. I’m not sure if it’s worth it Price on grey market is almost the same. 2 tone sometimes feels somewhat old-fashioned. On the other hand it’s the most iconic DJ and matches my wife’s champagne lady DJ. Retail price for it is also pretty higher than the steel one.
Should I pull the trigger for this trade?

I would not. It matches your wife’s and it’s a great watch as is.

I wouldn’t trade it. Datejust in two tone yellow gold is a classic stunner. Its one of my favorite datejust models and will be getting one in the future.

TT DJ is much more classy than SS models in my opinion. I wouldn't do the trade

get the dial swapped out at AD for blue one and keep the champagne dial so you can switch back and forth.

I like both the TT and the SS variations. The TT is a classic and the blue dial is a modern classic to me. I prefer the blue dial on a jubilee with the fluted bezel. If you want a change up, contact a few of our Trusted Sellers and see what the numbers are on a trade and that should help a little with the decision making process.

Nope - your current watch wins in that scenario all day long. Just all gels together so well in that configuration. TT isn’t old fashioned - that’s only full YG!!

Don't downtrade your current 2-tone DJ for a stainless steel version as you will lose money when you make the trade

The 41 SS blue dial with fluted bezel and jubilee bracelet is simply one of the best-looking watches not just in the Rolex catalog but also in comparison with other brands.

The 904 steel, along with case and bracelet finishing, gives the watch a distinctive shine that compliments the blue dial with stick indices, giving it a sport chic look that only a few can achieve.

The TT champagne is a nice classic watch, but it is not on par with the SS blue version. Wear what you like, and if money is not a big issue, do the trade.

TT Datejusts are beautiful watches but often don't fit their owner's lifestyle (a lesson I learned the hard way).

TT can look overly dressy and flashy and sometimes you may not want to wear it. If it's not a fit for you move on and don't over think it. The blue dial SS will give you are more sporty and more causal look and you will probably wear it more often.

As for trading, I'd want some cash my way if making that trade. You could try to sell it yourself maybe.

TT Champagne Jub is a classic Rolex look, blue on SS is more modern, esp on Oyster, go with which one suits your style/vibe these days. I dismissed Champagne out of hand in my 30s but now in my 40s I appreciate them alot more. One idea albeit an expensive one is to keep the DJ and add a blue SkyD.

My wife has a 2 tone DJ too. I’ve never had a Two tone watch. For a guy they’re old school. Usually for an older fella or a beginner. Your taste has evolved. Blue dial in all stainless with jubilee is beautiful.

Going from the classic champagne dial TT, to blue dial on stainless steel seems like a step backwards, to me. Why not just add the blue dial? When people say their watch doesn’t fit their lifestyle, I just don’t get that. I wear whatever watch I want, no matter what I’m doing, or what I’m wearing. I’ve noticed in the WRUW pics, so do a lot of other folks.

Thank you all for sharing some input. I'll probably keep my 126333 and will be waiting to hear from my AD to get the blue dial. Since I'm not in a rush and have several amazing pieces to enjoy I'll take my time

It all depends on what you like, for me I wouldn't do the trade, just do a dial swap to a blue dial and keep both.

Im not a TT guy, but when I think of a DJ, I think of the configuration that you have. I’d stay put
