What paper / notebooks?

Curious on what loose paper or notebooks everyone uses. Are you all using specific FP type paper or normal paper on the daily? Love to hear what your preference is and your usage case...

My favourite are notebooks with the Brest of my old uni embossed on. They come in a range of bright colours and remind me I was clever once.

If I’m not using those, I quite like Lechturm ones. I know others swear by moleskine but I think the lines are too close together for my writing.

Definitely not using regular paper. Rhodia paper is my daily go to but I prefer Nanami Seven Seas Tomoe River notebooks when I’m feeling fancy. Honestly, just get any Rhodia notebook and call it a day unless you want to go down the wormhole.

Same here. Rhodia daily. Tomoe River for something fancy.

I've used rhodia dot paper before and was happy with it. Just looking for other alternatives to see if I find something else.

For notes, I use Field Notes. Bought those from jetpens.com. Great for fountain pens and not bleeding through. Leuchtturm is a good choice as well. I do not use loose sheets at all. Good diary books are from Spector&Co.

Another shout out for Rhodia from me! As has already been said, for quick and easily quality just pick up any Rhodia notebook. Otherwise go down the rabbit hole and see where you end up. Probably back at Rhodia when cost vs quality amd ease odf sourcing comes into play.

I’ve used exclusively Design.y for the last decade. Hand-bound leather notebooks from Sendai, Japan, they use only Tomoe River paper. Ultra-thin sheets with no bleed through; the best paper in the most beautiful wrapping. I find the EP Record (A5; plain sheets) to simply be the best notebook in the world. Yep Rhodia for me daily driver. Also I’ve heard there’s some xerox laser jet quality or the such that is pretty cheap and does well.

To find an ink friendly paper can be a difficult task. Here you have what I currently use.
Sennelier, Malzeit, Dahler-Rowney calligraphy blocks are very good.
Canson Croquis 90 g/m2 is good.
Rhodia pads 80 g/M2 are for my shopping lists.
Oxford notebooks with Optic Paper 90 g/m2 are excellent as commonplace journals.
For scribbling I use Herlitz pads.

Honestly, a lot of finding the ideal FP paper includes research. I have an ink and pen/nib combination that works great with Moleskine with no bleed-through or feathering. That same combo doesn't play well with Tomoe River Paper (too long drying) or other papers that I have. I have other inl/pen/nib combos that work great with TRP.

Try various nibs/pens and inks on various notebooks and you will eventually come up with combos that work. All a part of the fun and satisfaction of fountain pens!
