Yes, the numbers and markers on the bezel are indeed coated with platinum

My first post, so fitting that its in the thread for the first Rolex I purchased at the AD. Just before I picked up my GMT Master 2 Pepsi, I spent a good amount of time looking at the last 3 generations around New Bond Street's pre-owned watch showrooms, anxious to find a better (& more instant) alternative!

When I say that none of the previous GMT Pepsi aluminum bezel watch generations did anything for me, I cannot overstate this enough. In my humble view, the Ceramic Pepsi GMT Master is the most substantial and attractive improvement Rolex has ever done to a model in their lineup.

The result speaks for itself! The watch has had a halo effect on earlier GMT model sale prices and has renewed interest in the line. It was recently voted more desired than even the Daytona (my subsequent Rolex purchase.)

The 10 year thread bump ... although still applicable today.

This was my first ceramic watch, and I wish I still had it today

curious - do you like the aesthetics more of the modern GMTs or the aluminum bezel ones?
