Easy removal of permanent bracelet links

Had to remove a couple permanent links from my wife's jubilee bracelet. For a BNIB watch of course have the AD do it, but for something older DIY is actually easy.

Look around online and here, most recommend the "Two vice grips" method. This approach gets the links removed however they're also destroyed during the process: Grip each side and pull them apart. The vice grips squeeze very lightly and damage the links.

There's an easier way by using Snap Ring pliers.

Procedure:
- Take bracelet off the watch
- Flip it over so you're looking at the inside
- Fold it backwards at the place you wish to break it, this will open up the joint between the links
- Place the pliar tips into the joint...
- ...squeeze...
- *POP*! The link comes apart

To reassemble, put some red loctite on the ends of the 'permanent' pins and tap together with a plastic-tipped hammer. Use tape on the polished link segments if you wish in order to protect them.

The nice thing about this tool is that the little tips are hardened so they won't bend. They also have a round profile and won't leave any visible marks on the links. The pliers are supplied with tips of various sizes. I bought the Channel Lock brand, made in USA.
