Australian Dealer Advice

Hi Everyone - have been looking to add an SD43 126600 for a couple of years now. My wife has been frequenting a few ADs in the hope of surprising me however it’s been to no avail.

Hence I’m looking to buy grey and will target an unworn 2021 piece. I have a few leads to follow-up but before I hand over the cash I was hoping for advice on the forum view of the most reliable and trustworthy local Australian sources?

Reluctant to source internationally given import taxes and risk.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice!

I like the guys at Vintage Watch Co, both in Brisbane and Sydney. Gordon is awesome in Brisbane. They might be able to use their sources to find what you need.

Wouldn’t it be fantastic if there was a “Sticky” on the for sale section just for Australia!

I know Steve would be looking daily, and so would I!

Hi,

Has anyone purchased from Watchesrus before? Planning to make a purchase soon and was wondering if anyone's dealt with them before. Thanks.

What are you buying and how much would help?
If in doubt don’t do it and use a trusted reseller already mentioned in this post

Watches of Switzerland, Rolex AD in Collins St, Melbourne CBD.
HONEST, reliable, transparent and efficient too!
Highest recommendation for Oz

Do not buy gray in Oz, not worth it, gray dealers buy below retail brand new watches from non informed sellers and resell with 50% markup! Go to an AD and wait a few months for a new timepiece at retail price. Do not be a fool otherwise.

Sorry but that’s not strictly true.
You can get some great pre owned watches in Australia you just need to do your research. And it’s one of the worst places to buy from an AD

Thank you Marty. I am buying AP Royal 15202ST. I agree with you if I am in doubt I will not do it that's why I am validating the seller as I don't live in Australia.

Thanks Marty I agree with you. I am buying AP Royal Oak. Since I don't live in Australia and the watch condition and deal is good for me. I just need to validate the seller before proceeding with the transaction.

Another thing Circle Red has good reviews on Chrono24. is it possible they are fake reviews?

No experience with secondhand dealers, though watch craze comes up on searches. Any experience buying/selling with them from Australian members?

Tbh I’ve never heard of circle red but that could be me being not up to date with sellers. Just buy the seller as much as the watch if you have any concerns then don’t do it.
Another place I would recommend and I’ve used them when we lived in Melbourne and now living overseas is an auction house called Leonard Joel they are based in Melbourne and they have watch auctions throughout the year and sell some great watches at sometimes great prices

??? I have just got a brand new Sub 2024 from the AD in Collins St Melbourne CBD - at retail. Anything wrong with that ? :)

Or should I have bought it from the gray for 30% above retail ??? :)
