If I loved the Daytona, I would absolutely wear a PM version daily. I shake my head at the ‘it’s heavy’ comments. Spent countless great days wearing WG or RG Sky-Dweller's. You feel the heft putting it on, then never notice when on the wrist. I do however notice the beautiful, warm gold luster, whenever I check the time. Always feels more special that stainless steel.

I’m thinking of making this jump from SS 116500 white dial to the blue 116509.

Great to hear all the positive feedback about making WG a daily.

Also if you were really particular about the bezel.
Either just order a backup for easy change when that time comes to replace OR put a protective sticker on it (yeah yeah yeah stickers are lame).

I'd take a little different approach than some have mentioned. I love the heft of PM, makes other SS feel almost cheap. My DD40 and WG YM 42 are my favorites and a big part of it is the weight

Same here, even though my watches are somewhat smaller than what you guys wear. I like to feel the heft of my watches.

I think the 11651x watches are the best Rolex daily watches Rolex ever made. With a monoblock cerachrome bezel, OF bracelet and pushers, almost nothing gets scratched. Love mine, albeit in YG.

No issues with daily wear PM Daytona’s for me. Precious metal watches don’t need to be precious.

I've worn my Daytona every day for 7 1/2 years and: 1) It's not heavy or uncomfortable, 2) it doesn't get beat up, and 3) I get to wear my favorite watch every day. It's too expensive for me to save for "special" occasions.

YMMV
