Likely to be the fact they are calling many people who registered interest but are now knocking back the watches. They are trying to make sure the lists are representative of people who actually still want to purchase

I have registered for the green dials 41mm OP and the GMT VTNR fingers crossed one day I will get the call. So far I have been allocated the Mint Green 41 mm date just jubilee bracelet but with a smooth bezel and a 28 mm ladies date just with a fluted bezel. Just last week picked up the Tudor Blackbay 39 mm GMT.

I’ve had the same email though I don’t see it as anything to do with the watches being available any time soon, but rather a reminder that I’m on a ‘list’

Last time I was passing the AD I did ask if there was any update and the answer was no, but hopefully before the end of the year…

I've had the same email, and I've never had anything like this before. I'm hoping it's a sign of something coming soon....

Seems a reasonable thing to do. Why would you think otherwise?

Fret not OP, the watch market is returning to normalcy. Normalcy means AD’s returning to begging for buyers of non-sports Rolex and PM watches. The writing is always on the wall as soon as unworn PM pieces drop below retail at greys. The inevitable trickle-down then occurs deflating all references above including SS. Essentially, the reverse of "A rising tide lifts all boats"

That’s exactly what it is…. I had the same email and when I popped in to see my AD yesterday she told me that quite a few people have changed their minds and now want different models so they are trying to update their lists.

Interestingly she told me that things are starting to turn around and they are seeing much more stock coming through, waits will still be the norm for some time as the backlog is huge, however she said that there has been a noticeable improvement in supplies over the past couple of months.

Perhaps I’m naive and she was just telling me what I wanted to hear, however she’s always been honest with me in the past and she looked like she was genuinely happy that things are improving.

I had this from WOS with a pic of a submariner I put my name down forn7/8 years ago.

I rung them and said do you have the watch for me (I hate this company and don’t really deal with them for this reason) they said no we’re just reviewing your interest. I got pretty pd off lol.

7/8 years! They are difficult to deal with for sure.

That will be Goldsmith’s trying to get the deadwood trimmed from their interest registration lists, reducing the amount of time consuming calls they are making & getting a ‘no’ response from.

Nothing to do with supply improvements. A marketing list cleanse, that’s all.

It beggars belief that they don't put you ahead of the 12,345,678 customers who also want a Submariner.

I wonder why they don't give you a call... hmmm

If you've not popped in for a while, take them up on the offer, book an appointment, run through what you're down for, have a coffee, try on a few watches. If you're genuinely interested in picking something up in the near future, it's a good opportunity to get that registration dialled in and up to date.

I'm a Goldsmiths customer, and I took it as an opportunity for them to cull the "non-serious" enquiries from the "really-serious" enquiries. Think about it, they are going to have a LOT of people on their database who have no intention of buying a watch even if they do get a call. It makes sense to me that they do some housekeeping.

I said I would get back to them as I have 3 other dealers who asked first so I put them on a wait list of those who have registered their interest in my re-registering with them.

I did last week buy a few pieces of jewellery and the Blackbay GMT 39 mm so just made a enquiry for someone to call me from the AD. I am curious to see if anything will be offered.

Interesting! I wouldn't be surprised if you get a call at some point in the near future; congrats on the GMT! :)
