Genuinely I'd choose my 116710BLNR.

I know the temptation for many is to start quoting all kind of PM and unobtainable grail watches when the words "money's no object" are brought into the mix, but the good old BLNR is a watch I just cannot fault in any way. From the overall design, the size, the bezel colours, the movement... literally everything is faultless IMO.

TBH it'd always be a close run thing between the BLNR and the 116610LN Sub Date, but the BLNR just has the edge due to the extra bit of colour which adds some additional interest, and the GMT complication is far more useful to me than the extra 200m of WR offered by the Sub.

I know the day date is gold, but this watch rules them all! IMO it’s classy it’s trashy it’s everything in one lol

Agree with the WG GMT, my personal preference is the original 116719 black dial.

I don't own it. But it would have to be a SS sub date.

Fortunately life has been good to me and i don't have to make these tough decisions.

One watch to rule them all? Well, for me personally that´s my 5-digit Submariner. It´s been my one watch daily wear for more than 28 years. I never get tired of looking at it, and it has never let me down. Suits my lifestyle perfectly! I´m a contented one-and-done Rolex guy (for the moment!)...

Yesterday I responded with a DayDate.

But in hindsight, I could never consolidate down to one watch or one Rolex.

Best I could do would be having these two:

One watch? That would be the one that fits most, if not all occasions—has to be timeless, handsome…for me, that would be a Submariner.

Moods change and my idea of the 'best' watch has evolved over the years. First best was the Explorer II, then Sky-Dweller, YM42, back to Explorer II, now YM42 Ti. I went from collecting SS to abandoning the pedestrian metal for PM, then back to SS (and Ti). You know what I have learned? I just like buying stuff.

I’m now down to 4 and my collection is absolutely based on what I really like for my own taste and nothing to do with hype or Instagram or value (I made that mistake 3 or 4 times before.) Which makes this an even harder question, as I’d have to give up 3 watches that I have put a lot of thought and time into choosing, buying and now wearing.

But if I HAD to choose 1 it would be the WG GMT Master II, with Midnight Blue dial.

I’ve swapped my collection around a lot over the years and whenever I don’t have a GMT it’s the one I miss the most. I now have the WG version, it’s a classic, Pepsi bezel, very subtle dial colour especially out of direct light, and I have to say, if one watch was the only option, it would be that.

The DayDate 40 is a VERY close second. But for my lifestyle, the GMT is the one.

I’d love to hear from the community on what yours would be, whether you own it or not, money no object, modern or vintage, rare or not… doesn’t have to be a Rolex, which is the one for you, if one was your only option.

The 126719 blue dialed Pepsi is my favorite watch in the catalog.

I agree if 2, it would be these. If one, black sub date.
