I think the DD40 is like 0.5mm smaller than the DJ41, so pretty damn near the same size

Datejust 41 sudden feels big...lol

Yes, that’s what I have read on this forum countless times. I don’t have calipers. So I never measured mine, but my DJ41 wears much smaller and lighter compared to my Submariner and Seamaster. In honor of this thread, I think I’ll wear my DJ41 today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I agree with you on the proportions. Now that i've had the DD40 for a while now, when looking at the fluted bezel on the DJ41, it is just ever so slightly too thick in my opinion. If you look at it long enough, the bezel just seems a little overpowering...if that makes sense. lol.

I also have the same problem. I bought a DJ41 first and then DD40 and now I also think the DJ41 is a bit chunky on my 6.3" wrist. I've been thinking about selling the DJ41 and buy a GMT Batman or 40mm Sub instead.

Funny, that’s exact OPPOSITE situation we are experiencing in Switzerland. A DJ with a “desirable” (i.e. classical) config (fluted bezel and jubilee) is worth a year’s wait. That was the case for my first purchase at Bucherer (126234 blue sunburst, ordered 12/2022 got it 12/2023) and would be the case now if i wanted one.

I long thought my wrist “needed” a 41 DJ. It doesn’t.. Now it’s 36 all the way (7 inch flat wrist) and it would be 36 as well if i was interested in a DD.

Had exactly the same feeling. Only problem: I did not buy the DD, just tried it once.
The the DJ felt big. Sold it ultimately |

I own a DD40 and a DJ41. Heck if I can notice any difference.

I went through a similar evolution.
I used to have a Wimbledon in 41 and moved on from it to a 36 palm motif and the 36 feels so much better and more refined on my 6.75 inch wrist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a 41 and often wish I hadn't fallen for the hype / all the other views and just gone with the 36.

I concur with this. I guess it does rather depend on the specific configuration so would be interested to hear what you're waiting for and how long it's been.

I got two Daytona in six months. Well over that for the DJ that I just got a week ago.

OP I understand what you’re saying. The DD40 look and fit blows away the DJ41. I have a DJ41 and never wear it. I have subs and Daytonas, 1 gmtII. My dad has 2 DD40 and they are just Devine. I’m waiting for my ad to get the CPO program going to trade it in for the DD40 in white gold blue ombré dial or a meteorite dial. No contest

Datejust 41 sudden feels big...lol
lol Nothing like facts, math, and data to clear the air… I’m pretty sure the DD40 is virtually identical in size. Someone posted the measurements for both a while back. I think they both came in at 39.x. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

On my wrist it feels perfectly right as it is. Here is a picture, taken just now, that sums it up pretty well. Last, more than a goal in itself it’s an observation, the price difference between is a nice bonus when you choose the 36. It should not be a determining factor for this kind of product, but it doesn’t harm either as a nice consequence. Have a good day.
