[Emergency + UTC] Battery does not last long!
Greetings!
I have a Breitling Emergency with UTC, use it every day since 2010. Had to change the battery, a friend (working in this field) did it. I mean the watch battery, not the transmitter batteries. The new watch battery stopped working after about 3 weeks. Well, we thought the battery was corrupted, it can happen. Second time, same thing. Third time, same thing. Batteries are V399 Casio, bought in reputable place. The transmitter itself works, we didn't even check the batteries as the tester sends the good signal when we checked. The nearest Breitling service is about 6000 km away :) So, any suggestion? Thank you! |

Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about this issue your having with the emergency. Some members here change the batteries themselves and they apparently should last years.
Not sure what could be causing that issue, but the module might need to be checked over thoroughly. I'm trying to source some Renata batteries for a different watch as I've heard they're among the best. Hope you're able to get this resolved. |

I have an Emergency Mission Chrono from 2005 and figured out I can extend the life of the battery by pulling out the crown when I put my watch away. The subdial seconds hand will stop, indicating battery disconnected. Instead of running the battery 24/7 and having to change the battery every 2 years, I actually get around 5 years out of a factory battery change. I wear my Emergency Mission around 5 times a month in rotation with other watches. When it is time to wear it again, I set the time, push the crown back in, and then the watch fires up again. FYI. Don't know if this will work with the regular titanium Emergency.

To OP, are the batteries from the same batch? It could be a bad batch or the batch already expired. (Too old)
Unfortunately you can’t pull the crown to save battery on the titanium Emergency. At least I don’t think it would. Mine usually last about 3.5yr with minimal alarm use.

It is a sign that the movement is dieing.
Time to replace it. |
