Armin Strom

I really am digging the One Week First Edition and have found one available but this would set back me getting a Patek 5172 which I have lusted after for a while and is my second grail only behind the Patek 5270. I just worry if I was to tire of the AS it would be a slow sell and Id take a bath but am I missing something with AS? They really haven't been something I was aware of or followed before.

I think that first edition is good looking, sporty and fun. If you think there’s a chance you would want to sell it in a year or two, I would wait and pass on the opportunity for now. Too expensive to rush in. Plus you have to know, if you buy this Armin Strom, the very next day you’ll find a great deal on a 5172.

How close are you to the 5172?

Yes, you'll take a big hit on the AS, but if you see it as being part of a longer-term collection, then go for it. If you'll eventually sell it to get a 5172 then consider how much closer you'll be if you forego the AS.

One of my friends has one and absolutely loves it.

I’ve checked out their work in person and it’s amazing. Have a mirrored force en route myself.

I can do the 5172 easily if I get off my butt and sell a couple things I do not wear.

Well there you go...
The path is clear

So the next question you'll have to grapple with is whether you should go directly to the 5270 (preowned they seem like a great value compared to retail price).

Sell a couple pieces.
Skip the 5172.
Forego the AS.

How close are you to your stated grail piece? Or perhaps that grail should remain as such for now...
