There's two quintessential Rolex in my opinion, and it's exactly what I have in my collection. These have been 'cool' for decades, and will continue to be so for decades to come.
SS Sub YG DD Me personally, that's all I aspire for from Rolex at this point, with adding a Panda Daytona if it comes available to me at retail for a trifecta. |

He has a Speedy Pro, so likely would prefer a different dial color, which is why a DJ would be perfect. Also, is a new Sub under $10,000? Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Agreed, a DJ could match perfectly. A DJ would maybe be the only Rolex I'd want to buy if I were in the market for a new one. But I'd have to try on the different sizes first and see the various dial colours. BTW, a new Submariner (i.e. as you know, no-date!) is listed here in Germany on Rolex's website as €8,950, = USD ca. 9,664 as of today. So, under USD 10,000, if you can get one at retail...!

I too am a doctor that recently passed a medical board exam and decided to treat myself with a Rolex.
I got the Polar Explorer II, I love it. I swim as well and find that it's an incredibly versatile watch that is understated, but rugged and tough to wear everywhere. And also not so flashy that patients think you're a snob! I think a classic Submariner date black would also check those boxes, but a bit more recognizable. My two cents. |

Im also a doctor who passed finals a few years ago
Got the 116610LN Recently super fatigued with work and decided to go Grey for the BLNR jubilee Now retrospectively thought both watches have their pros and cons Depends what you like really But I’m sure your final choice will be a good one, just like your MCQ choices ;)
