Vacheron 4500v - unbelievable

Just took delivery of a VC 4500v in solid rose with blue dial for my father - unbelievably beautiful watch and a total knockout on the supplied blue band, super easy and quick to go from solid gold band to rubber or leather - screaming buy at 50-60. Ive been looking for a 228238 but for a solid gold piece this VC is amazing.

My 228238 makes me smile every time I put it on and I have had it a little over a year now. The VC is beautiful but does not make me smile like a DD.

On my wrist now and one of the nicest watches for sure. The blue dial is unbeatable and best in business IMHO. The strap system next level! Overall it’s an amazing watch and on a different level than DD. Big congrats to your father!

Congrats on the VC 4500v in solid rose with the blue dial! That sounds stunning, and the quick switch between bands is a great feature. At $50-60k, it seems like an amazing deal. I've been eyeing the 228238, but your experience has me considering this VC instead. Enjoy the watch!

For what it's worth, I owned the 228238 white dial with roman numerals and ended up trading it in toward the 4500v pink gold with blue dial. The Day Date is an unbelievable, aspirational watch. I just happened to find the yellow gold version made me feel slightly uncomfortable while wearing it in public, and the lack of adjustability on the president bracelet meant it never fit quite right.

Although the Vacheron is still a full gold watch, it somehow is softer and not as in-your-face. Plus, most people have no idea what it is. The micro adjustments on the bracelet and the quick strap change system just add to the total package. It's very special for sure.

It's a beauty, that blue dial was always one of my fav shades, only thing better is the tourby which is crazy nice.

Congrats! I previously owned a 4500v in blue and it is such a great and complete watch. Just wish it fit my wrist better and it would have been still in the collection!

I do have to admit I do feel a little less comfortable wearing my DD recently with everything going on in the world but I am wearing it today actually. I lust for the new Plat DD and I think Id actually worry a little less wearing that as most people will assume its a SS Rolex DJ

It's funny you can wear a Patek 5270 that costs 4X the DD40 YG and 99.9% of the world won't even look at it twice. I really like that about the Patek but I just don't really like watches on straps. They never fit me right.

My DD40 is YG with the white roman dial

If I was going to rock a solid gold time only watch, I would have a tough time deciding between the VC and the Czapek. I'm normally not a big Czapek fan, but that one with brushed links looks nice.
