AP ReMaster 02

wow this watch is a stunner, similar retro charm as the Rolex King Midas.

https://www.audemarspiguet.com/com/f...A347CR.01.html

to me the remaster02 is a reaffirmation of AP's standing as a design authority and trend setter in watches.

just a bit disappointing that they only do 250 pieces.

will be curious to see when they pop up on reseller sites and chrono24.

It’s an interesting enough piece but the pricing ($50k for a fashion watch with 1 strap, no date) is insane...

It's not wearable even as a somewhat daily, too big for women and too large / too flashy for a true dress watch, doesn't work as a work watch and certainly isn't a weekender... So it's a watch to have cocktails with your fashionista friends on a Thursday eve

And of course it's "limited edition" to ensure folks will be clamoring for it... I'd be careful that AP doesn't fall into the Omega trap where they trip over themselves with LEs

It is simply too large to be appealing to me, ruined the whole vintage vibe by making it the size of a old desktop monitor, but applaud AP for attempting to quell the one watch brand nonsense.

Like the idea, but poor execution. Needed to be 37-39mm with a manual wound movement. Also, not be a limited edition and priced in the 30's

Why not a work watch or a semi-daily? Because of its gold (partial) content, or just too attention-getting?

Agree on the size 100%. I would buy at 37-39mm.
I actually find the design very attractive, and captures AP’s brutish non-conventional ethos perfectly.

A sad missed opportunity in my opinion…

IMO the entire watch is too large and too attention getting for its own good. If it was 38-39mm you may get away with it but an rectangular block of sand gold with hard edges and a protruding crown is a bit much.

Add to that it's only available in gold (which makes it less of a daily) and there you have it.

Of course it won't matter since AP will surely find 250 VVVIPs queued up to sell yet another LE to that will most likely be stored as yet another safe queen in the hopes of appreciating collectibility

Seems like a couple of people on Reddit already collected theirs; I don't think it's at the e.g., John Mayer QP level of access. Looking forward to seeing it IRL to judge the size myself.

the size could perhaps be an issue for me indeed

OTOH that's the case for me w/ 70% of AP's lineup..

To be honest I expected it to wear much larger. It was quite comfortable on my 6.5” wrist.

I don't think the picture truly reflect the color...it's less gold in person, itls almost silver color.

Its one of those things I think looks cool in pics but would not do it for me on my wrist in person.

I see what you’re saying now, especially in context of the additional pictures that have been posted. I like it a lot, since release, in part because I may be a little AP Royal Oaked out and CODEd (pun intended) which has made me eager for something new that builds on their impressive past. But I have to agree that this isn’t an easy daily or dress piece. The size seems to be working out based on the other posts, but again to your point a bit smaller may have increased its versatility. Overall, it’s great to see something new.

AP ReMaster 02

I just saw this in person at the AP house and it’s magnificent.
The gold alloy is a darker silver color with a hint of rose gold. Not typical white gold and not rose gold but a fantastic inbetween ….. understated and warm without being excessively rich in color.
The case shape looks like it would sit extremely well on my 7 inch wrist.
The heft , case shape angles and asymmetry were all extremely pleasing in person.

I suspect future owners will be extremely happy with their purchase.

..Explorer & Spring Diver - I’m just here for the photos..

I was offered this a couple weeks back and turned it down. That said, liked it better than I thought I would.

How hard are these to get? I like this model. I wish it was 2mm smaller but do appreciate the modern take to this model.

I don't think it's very hard. The price and nature of it limit the pool of potential buyers imo.

AP created art work in watch making! The watch journey is great and this watch is definitely unique!

I beg to differ. With a limited production of 250, there's definitely no shortage of buyers. AP's VIP list far exceed this number by 100s to 1000s.

I placed interest in my local Boutique and was told only delivery of 3 pieces this year and already fully allocated. The list is also overwhelming.
