Tough choice, but I'd pick the Black Bay.

Both watches are great. I went for the Black Bay, although I recently sold it and purchased the 58 instead. Fits better on my wrist.

Can anyone provide some experience r regarding a LHD Pelagos vs normal for a right handed person?

Traditionally right handed persons wear their watches on left hand and vice versa. I like the Pelagos LHD with red line but how would that suit/wear on a right handed person?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Was not a huge fan of Pelagos in person though the blue looked great in pictures.

Having the crown on the left side can benefit right handed wearers by not digging into your hand when bending wrist or getting snagged on backpack or similar straps. Might just be me but I tend to snag the crown on stuff when wearing my watches a little loose, esp on NATOs

If it were my only watch I would go with the BB. And probably the eta black bay. And probably the black eta black bay.

First post on TRF, I couldn’t agree more! For me, that’s the only of the three initial models that stands out even more than the in-house movement. Although the IHM is great, it’s the ETA in Black that is the star in my eyes. It’s classic style & limited numbers without being a LE model make it a true winner for years to come and the one I want!

The GMT is also great and the BB58. The latter looks better in person I feel.

I have the Tudor GMT and the Pelagos LHD and love them both. yes, different watches but you can't go wrong with either.

Black Bay all the way! Owned both but prefer Pelagos. Perhaps if you like bulkier watches, you may like the Pelagos more. Otherwise, I'd opt for the Black Bay.

I like the modern look from the Pelagos. Guess it also depends on wrist size and comfort. It wears big but is super light.

I feel the Blue bezel Black Bay is a closer match to Pelagos. The faux patina of the other Black bays adds to jewelry vs tool look.

I've had both and prefer the BB Black. Pelagos was quite heavy and I couldn't get used to the luminous bezel. However, it was really legible!

I owned the BB GMT, lovely watch, kept great time, but I found it a tad too much of a chonk. Wouldn't slip under the cuff very well, also just felt too chunky.

I now own a Pelagos FXD, obviously much lighter in titanium and no bracelet, and it just feels better to wear with the slimmer profile, and I love the blue. Also keeps great time, + - 2 seconds a day. Hard to beat for the money imo.

The FXD wasn't available when the OP asked the question........7 years ago
