Beautiful shots in this thread!

I guess it depends on what else you have in the collection? Can’t go wrong either way.

If it’s a one and only watch 16710 al the way. You sound to already be excited with all the variants available to it.

If it’s only for travel alone and the activities that often accompany travel if you are adventurous 16570.

I would probably shoot for 16710, but either watch is fantastic.

I have a 16570 black dial that fills the GMT slot in my small collection. I’d like a 16710, but at current prices, I can’t justify it.

I don't see them going down any more. They've already come down a healthy 3ish K. I'd pick one up sooner rather than later.

My travel watch is a 16570 in an Everest strap

Have owned both. I like the 16710 for local wear but the 16570 for travel. I think the pepsi bezel fades badly in the sun, do not have that problem with the 16570.

Exactly my opinion.

Exp II is perfect, elegant and simple.

GMT looks nicer but technically speaking i find it similar to the deepsea, it has more features than the average user will ever need.

Plainly said, I like it when the bezel is fixed in one position.

As I said above, I have a nice 16570 that fills the GMT slot in my collection. I'd really like a 16710. Functionally they are the same, but at this point the rotating bezel and GMT Master 2 on the dial are not worth $5k more to me. I also believe the prices on 16710's are inflated due to the lack of inventory of 6 digit GMT Master 2's. Folks are buying the 5 digit version as they seem to be plentiful and easy to obtain.

Is this supported by actual data?
The aluminum bezel for ceramic substitution theory. I’ve seen this idea thrown out a few times lately. 5 juxtapose 6 digit reference: the models are completely different and I believe, coexist independently and in equal measure.
As previously mentioned, 16710 allows for 3 different interchangeable bezels, a more solid and reliable movement and neo-vintage charm.
6 digit are plentiful and easy to obtain as well.

MI6 on an absolute shiite yesterday.
YMMV

I don’t believe the 6 digit references are plentiful or easy to obtain at all. Lots of threads here about folks have a hard time getting one and I’ve never seen one at at AD. YMMV

That’s not what you wrote. Look on Ebay, Reddit or Chrono: 6 digits aplenty.
Just because you have never seen them at AD doesn’t mean they’re unavailable. You can’t find 5 digit at AD either, doesn’t mean they’re unavailable either. If you are attempting to substitute a 5 for 6, I believe you will be disappointed. Constant buy-sell to obtain what you really want will cost more.
Buy once-cry once.

You’ve taken this thread about the 16570 and 16710 to one about the 6 digit equivalent. I’m done. Have a nice day.

Partial to the 16570, it's a GMT as well, so you can keep track of home office time while you travel.

Don't forget you can use the 16710's bezel as a timer, very useful
