6119R vs Parmigiani's Toric Petite Seconde

I have been eying the 6119r as a classic gold dress watch addition to my collection of sport watches. However, this year Parmigiani launched the Toric Petite Seconde in rose gold, with a gold caliber, and I must say... it looks pretty stunning. The straps are also quite nice.

The market for time-only 3-hand gold watches is somewhat crowded, with the Rolex 1908, Vacheron's Patrimony and Traditionnelle, Lange & Soehne 1815, etc. But since this is a Patek's forum, I guess the question is... how does the 6119r compare against the new Toric? Which one would you prefer and why? And also, how can those gorgeous Parmigiani straps be replicated in the 6119r?

Dafuq, is it even a fair competition? 6119R is one of the best patek dress watch in recent years, no contest has to be 6119
Patek original straps are crap, but you can find a lot of choices out in the wild

6119 by a mile. No disrespect, but on so many levels it's not even close, imo

If only 6119 was smaller... the toric wears better on smaller wrists

I’m really into watches. I’ve been reading and learning about different brands for over a decade. I’ve never even heard of Parmigiani.

I’d take the Toric without a seconds thought. They absolutely nailed that and it’s far better finished front and back than the 6119. Don’t get me wrong I love that feeling you get when you see patek on the dial as well but the 6119 isn’t a watch that gets me excited enough to overlook how much nicer the toric is.

I agree. I’m a HUGE Patek fan but PF nailed it with the Toric. At retail no thank you, but eventual secondhand prices, yes please.

I’m not paying MSRP for one either because they will be available for 30% off + in a year but there’s no doubt this is a question of trading fit and finish for brand which is normally not that crazy of a debate on TRF.

Parmigiani makes lovely watches, but the Toric's retail price is eye-watering expensive.

Nearly US$50,000? IMO, the Toric would be properly priced around 20-25K. I can think of a dozen watches at 50K that I'd rather buy.

The 6119 is somewhat overpriced too but they seem to sell well, so the market price seems justified.

I like the 6117, Toric, and the Chopard, but have decided in favor of the new Moritz Grossmann tefnut, which I hope to have before long. Between the 6117 and the Toric, I’d go 6117, both because of price and also because I have a relationship with Patek already.

Stunning piece love it but $36k also seems excessive for the gold piece honestly. Price side looks absolutely beautiful

Excellent choice. Way more horological value with the MG than the 6119, any comparable Calatrava or the Toric.

That MG is really nice as well. Hard to fault MG finishing for the price.

Absolutely love the MG. ! I'm trying to decide between the MG and a custom D Dornbluth... Both beautiful imo. However, Can't take anything away from the Calatrava...

The Parmigiani Fleurier PF logo on the dial is rather unsightly to me (cough cough)

PP 6119r is the easy choice here.

Now if it was a FPJ, that would be much harder to choose.

Michael Parmigiani started off repair watches for companies like Patek Philippe.
The company has been around for 28 years and can do everything in house, they make parts and movements for other companies as well.

Parmigiani supplies movements and components to 17 other Swiss luxury watchmakers, including movements for Richard Mille and Bulgari. It makes cases for IWC, Girard-Perregaux, Patek Philippe, MB&F, Corum and Zenith, and it makes dials for Audemars Piguet and Lange & Söhne.

Really? Can you name another gold watch, with an 18kt gold movement with that quality of finish for $25k? I know I can't think of any under $40k.
(Retail for the gold case is $42k.)
