Guys can I check winding the watch from the manual it stated position 1 (crown not pull out) and turn clockwise abt 10 turns to fully wind. I turn until there's some resistance and can't be turn.. It's that correct?

10 turns for patek is their recomendation
Rolex is 40 or 50

You can continue to wind automatic watches, there is not a hard stop like some manual wind watches.

Best option is 10 turns and don’t take that beauty off the wrist.

That does not sound typical for a 324 movement?

My understanding is an automatic movement won’t stop winding?

Also not sure how many turns you are making but I would stop around 10. That is should be enough.

First, congratulations for your 4947, it's the second owner we seem to see here in the last few months, a very nice model :)

Regarding your question, an automatic caliber is equipped with a sliding flange, hence when fully wound, the crown (and the rotor) keeps turning (maybe with a very slightly more resistance but not much). It's never blocked (because the rotor would then apply a damaging pressure while moving your wrist). It uncouples the winding system from the mainspring.

I guess it isn't a screw down crown, is it (like for Nautilus and Aquanauts)?

Otherwise, your movement must be checked by your AD. I would suggest not to wear it (hence overwinding it to the limit) until it is controled.

Thx.. Yes it's a non screw in crown. Think because the watch is quite new and thus the resistance when near or full wind. I tried to wind and it can still continue.

To a true watch lover.. It feels like top of the moon having own the first complication from Patek. The bracelet fits like a glove. The watch is surprising light. The blue dial is like a chamalon.. Changing color in different types of light.
