Omega = Speedy. All other models are ‘nice to have’ but Speedy is the Must.

I agree OP. My Speedy journey started a decade ago with a hesilite version I bought in New Zealand. I loved it and started adding other versions over the years. I’m now down to my favorite two Speedys, one of which will never leave my collection. The Speedy is such an iconic and versatile watch. It’s character can be changed with a simple strap swap. No other watch is as much of a chameleon. IMO it’s a watch every collector should experience.

It is the best watch looking chronograph in the world imo. It, along with the Submariner, is also the most iconic watch ever.

Love my Hesalite on sailcloth.

They are such perfect watches. Tempted to get the steel bracelet, but most of my other pieces are on steel, and I like the comfort + change up of the nylon.

Went down to the abandoned silver mine, so many paces, turn left, look up the air shaft. Move the big rock to one side, open the safe locked in concrete. There she lay, I'm wearing it today.

IMO, You don’t need the steel bracelet for your black Speedy. For the longest time, I had mine on the bracelet. Now, I have mine on the black Omega rubber; I actually think a black band ( rubber, leather, cloth) looks better than the bracelet overall. The black band, from my perspective, accentuates the dome of the crystal ( Hesalite) and better contrasts the white markers, allowing for a little more pop.

I have the new White Speedmaster and I prefer the bracelet so far (haven’t tried it on the black rubber). The white speedy is a little more modern/ jewelry like, and dressy….so better for the “blingier” ( relatively speaking) bracelet.

Yes, I agree 100%. But when I see that beautiful taper on the new bracelets, I get tempted!

I also have the NASA velcro, which I never use.

If anything, I would get a Sapphire or white speedy on the steel, because..... why not??!?!?!?!?!?!?

I am sure that for the very limited amount of water that the astronauts got on their watches the Speedmaster is fine, but you can bet that the UDT / SEAL team guys that jumped out of the helicopters to assist them were not wearing Speedmasters.
