What this lip thing behind some Patek watch.
Anyone has any idea.. What is the function of this protruding part on the back case of the watch?

When you say its for removing the "snap back case", what does that mean exactly? is the case back not screw down? |

if it was screwed down it wouldn't be smooth case back.............hence this watch hasn't much wr.......the case uses friction to snap close or open

The Patek Philippe Grand Complication 5496P-001 with snap on case back is rated to 30 metres?
Not many dive to that depth.

I would not wear a 30 m water resistance watch swimming in a pool
"charts from brands like Seiko, Oris and Longines indicate watches rated for 30 meters are only really splash-resistant, suitable for wear when washing hands or in the rain. "

Patek has clarified that their 30m water resistance standard that rolled out on 5/1/24 means truly 30m.

Of course this is with good seals but manufacturers err way towards mitigation of liability hence the "charts". The fear of rain or hand washing a watch rated to 3 Bar does not compute from an engineering perspective and then you can add in the usual 25% safety margin that manufacturers add in? And please don't move you arms too fast when your watch is under water. The water will just shoot right past those seals.
