PO running fast....

Over the weekend, I noticed that my 6 year old PO was running fast gaining almost 10 mins in just over 24 hours.

What options do I have to get it serviced? The nearest Omega boutique is a more than a few hours away (I live in Columbus Ohio). I've done a little searching, but getting conflicting information about how to directly contact an Omega Service Center and was hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction.

Anything I could try before even going down that road? Wasn't sure if anyone knows of any independent watchmaker in my area that would be Omega certified.

Do you have an AD closer to you instead of going to a boutique? If so, they should be able to handle shipping it for service.

Unfortunately, neither an official dealer or boutique, which is why I'm trying to find out other options.

Could be magnetized which would be an easy fix. Just go to your local AD/Boutique

It's magnetized. Address that first. If that doesn't fix the problem then contact Jan at Nesbit's Fine Watch Service and send it to her for service. Nesbit's is an Omega-authorized independent where quality control and turnaround are way better than Omega Service Centers.

Often when they run very, very fast it is something that has become magnetized and an easy fix. Those of us who grew up with reel-to-reel tape machines always had a demagnetizer around the house.

Any competent watchmaker can both demag and service your watch, they are a common movement.

I agree that it might be magnetized (wishful thinking...but symptoms match), though I thought that it took a lot for Omega's to get magnetized. Really curious what might have done it.

Took the watch to a local jeweler in town to have them check for magnetization and hopefully that will take care of it. If not, then will reach out to Nesbit or Omega.

Should know in a few days.
